spanky Posted July 11, 2025 Posted July 11, 2025 A bit off topic, but AI related... At the final live Kiss concert the band introduced their avatars. Although I haven't heard much about the avatar tour since. If it were at the sphere, it might be entertaining to watch, once. But if I'm in the mood for live music I'll still go to the local venue to watch the live person talent. Sue Foley was the last show we saw in our favorite venue. She did not call it in, great show. From the Kiss site; You already know about the KISS avatars show we’re working on, but we have so much more planned — and it’s all going to blow your mind! Follow us on KISSonline.com and on our KISS socials for more huge announcements coming soon — including a call to serve for all members of the KISS Army. Because 50 years is just the beginning. 1 Quote
RobB Posted July 11, 2025 Posted July 11, 2025 (edited) Gawd, these shmendriks CAN NOT let go of their cash cow. Go away. Please. Edited July 12, 2025 by RobB 1 Quote
Rich_S Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 Justin Hawkins did a piece on these (non-) guys and showed a lot of their band “photos”. They’re far less convincing than the music. One of the guys has too many knuckles. AI doesn’t know how to string a 3-on-a-side headstock, but there are plenty IRL who don’t, either. 1 Quote
Jim85IROC Posted July 17, 2025 Posted July 17, 2025 This is a cool video. This band "covered" the AI song. Not surprisingly, it's much better, but I think it also supports my point I made earlier about AI being a good tool. Think about the AI song as a "demo" for an artist to cut, or as a songwriting or song development (since you're not really writing it). In my own case, I took my own lyrics and fed them into Suno with a description of what I wanted, and it ended up spitting out a song with a much better, more melodic vocal melody than I could ever come up with myself. The overall vibe of the song was just what I was after, and some of the guitar fills are even good enough that I want to learn them. Anyway, here's that human remake: 1 Quote

You (who didn’t write the new improved melody) or the owners of the AI company? Curious.., Quote
