I've really had a lot of interest in them lately, but I'm in the same boat.  Out of my range.  I've been considering building one of my own. Torrefied pine body blanks aren't all that expensive, and neither are roasted maple necks.  Fender style construction is really simple because you don't have to deal with any neck angles when you route the neck pocket.  It might make a decent project for next summer.  Mine may not have the same level of cosmetic perfection that I'd get from a Novo, but I should be able to retain the same basic ingredients, so I should be able to get the sonic benefits.  I've been wanting to try out some of the P90 sized dynasonic style pickups and this would be the perfect guitar for that.
