  1. sold! on its way to @Montelovesco and then @Hamer Dave, fingers crossed for the journey across the the pond.
  2. Sounds vaguely familiar. bought two guitars back after I sold them and one car. Sold one of the guitars and the car, still need to sell the other guitar a second time🥲
  3. The transparent black Tally is very cool!
  4. I certain number comes to mind🥲 350,- is just not a thing anymore if it ever was.
  5. I'm sure quite a few of you have seen this but there is one in Italy for sale that looks like it's in pretty good condition, the white has gone yellow but it's a nice finish and the price is a little more realistic (no affiliation): https://reverb.com/item/93571703-hamer-special-1981-custom-black-and-white-graphics-video
  6. This is mine. I absolutely love that finish. The graphic finishes were all one-offs, no two alike. This one here is also in The Book (thanks to @serial)
  7. These look interesting but from what I can the prices are pretty steep. So many great builders come to mind before shelling out that amount on a new brand with just another take on some classics. I love what Nik Huber does, Krautsters II and III, Dolphins, I'd be very tempted to try a Novo Serus J, not sure what Mike Shishkov is up to for now but of course he is someone with great taste who will factor in lots of personal ideas and they are all below that price bracket.
  8. @Hamer Dave @Montelovesco we're talking 😉
  9. It's in great condition. The black paint on the headstock has suffered around the tuners, but that's something I've seen quite a lot on those sunbursts and specials from that time.
  10. Hi everyone, wonderful guitar, but I'm not playing it, so I decided to sell it. It's listed here: https://www.kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/1978-hamer-sunburst/3421441880-74-2091 It has had changed tuners, now back to original 70s Grovers but not original to this particular guitar. HFC deal for EUR 3.000,- excluding any fees, potential shipping etc. I'm not crazy about shipping this guitar so if anyone interested here has the chance to pick it up in person that would be great (Dusseldorf, Germany), but I can and will ship in the EU, have done it before, should be fine. Shipping to the US is impossible at the moment for me (wouldn't now how to insure it properly, super expensive etc), sorry! Medium neck, frets still great, no breaks/ repairs, original case with red plush, later 1978 already with the sustain block (which I love). Cheers C.
  11. Stunning!!! I believe it's a natural maple top? So cool. Still remember a late (2006?) hamer standard in a natural that looked just gorgeous.
  12. Thanks for the update, all the best for the move! The hfc is quite fabulous. The only forum I activley follow. Cheers! C.
  13. Happy Easter! A somewhat later reply as i got overly excited by the 4digit V in the other thread. I hope we'll ge to see more of it (I'm not buying). Here's a shot from the rehearsal room with an orange rocker 30 as a backdrop and the 1980 opaque blue matching headstock special.
  14. I like this one better, 3.5k in Italy: https://reverb.com/item/93571703-hamer-special-1981-custom-black-and-white-graphics-video (no afiliation) Still have mine :-)
  15. Aye, I guess I never really paid attention to this. So the individual saddles on the 81 are about 1mm thinner/ narrower, the total for the six saddles is a difference of 6 mm between the 1978 (wider) and the 1981 (narrower). So maybe that's why the 1st and 6th string are closer to the fretboard edge on the 78. But the width of the strings at the bridge pick up on the 1978 (roughly 53 mm) is pretty much what I have on my 2022 Nik Huber too. The special comes in at about 47 mm.
  16. So... I have a 78 Sunburst with a sustain block and two Specials (1980/1981) and my Shishkov with sustain blocks. The spacing on the 78 in between the strings is much wider, to the point where you notice that the high and low E strings are off center to the poles of the bridge pick up and it also seems to mean that both E strings are closer to the edge on the fretboard than on the Specials/ the Shishkov. Why is that? The string / pole correnspondence is much better with the later sustain blocks but I get the feeling the extra space on the 1978 comes in handy when picking strings (I feel less clumsy). The difference between the width of all six strings on the 78 (wider) and the 81 (narrower) ist almost 5mm altogether.
  17. Are you looking for a Sunburst yourself? pm'd ya.
  18. I sent you an mp3 of a new track. All the best for 2026!
  19. Keep hearing good things about them. I would really like to try one but they are quite pricey IMO.
  20. Two in 2025, to my surprise...wasn't palnned at all. A 1978 Sunburst and a 1980 Special, both in very good condition (the Sunburst had changed tuners at some point). They are the oldest guitars I have now. Everything Fender form the 1960s long gone and I don't think I will ever be able to afford one buying again (love the 1960s Jaguars with matching headstocks).
