So.... this guitar showed up Friday night, and I unboxed it yesterday. I asked Paul to delay shipment as I was in New York City for a week, visiting my daughter Shannon, who had her 36th birthday last Saturday.

Anyway, it looks unplayed. There aren't even any pick swirls. True closet queen.

I have another electric 12-string that I use on a few tunes, but I am looking forward to bringing the Eclipse as soon as gig season gets going again.

Thanks again, Paul!

I have been playing this Hamer today, and I happened to notice something that is a bit of a surprise. Seems odd for what we all know to be Hamer's level of quality control.

The string ferrules on the back of the guitar are not in line at all.  Not only not in line with each other, but also not perpendicular to a center line down the neck. The high E is probably almost a quarter inch closer to the heel of the neck than the low E. You can see this in the for-sale images at the top of this thread.

I don't really care, but just a bit surprised.

Pizza and beer day?

ETA: That's wild. Of the 5 strings-through guitars here (3 Hamers, a Shishkov and a Mitchell), all but the Mitchell (GC's house brand) are dead-nuts straight-edge straight. Yours looks like the new guy free-handed it at 4:00 on Friday. Spacing looks good, though. B)

Ok. Two entertaining ways to look at it:

1 - the ferrules line up with the "ideal" saddle intonation adjustment... riiiiight...

2 - It's proof of a handmade guitar! (Handmade with one of these - )20260111_202831(1).jpg.4a50b5000f04bdce2989681d5ae211cb.jpg

I have this exact guitar. The ferrules are drilled exactly the same way. The bridge is designed that way. I was as surprised as you when I got it:)

Of all my bad jokes and bad ideas, this is not the one I expected to have a supporting technical document!
