I just watched that the other night too, I though it was good. The truss adjust nut is probably the best clue, the fakers would really have to go to some effort to do a Gibson style truss rod nut. 

Whenever I see one at a pawn shop, I always start by assuming it's a fake

Just ask Trogly!!! Even he's been burned. Flip McKnight is branding them now! Burns a big fake right into the guitar. 

As far as my looking, the castle nut on the truss rod and the wiring are where I start. I only have 2 Gibby's now. A 50's+ lester, and a CS339. Don't plan on getting more...
