UncleGreg Posted October 13 Posted October 13 Your friend and mine, Matt Smith, left us last night. The clinician for Hamer and Ovation for many years, Matt was an amazing walking vault to musical knowledge and technical skill. He was also one of the warmest and kindest people to ever walk on the planet. He ran Six String Ranch in Austin... I have many fond memories of he and I doing recording work there His seminars with David Grissom were amazing. I have video of us doing sessions, I'll have to find them. He was family. The world just got a little darker. 7 Quote
specialk Posted October 13 Posted October 13 So sorry to hear this. Peace and strength to his family and friends. Quote
belgian Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Met him a couple of times in Austin and travelled with him when I was doing tour management for Guy Forsyth - he was in the band at the Cognac Festival. A really great human being. Rest in Peace. 2 Quote

Steve Haynie Posted October 16 Posted October 16 I met Matt at least once. He gave me a lesson DVD. I remember him as a nice person. 1 Quote
