santellavision Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 1998 Gibson Historic Reissue ’58 Les Paul. Brutal Flame Top!!! I looked for about 3 years until I found this one. Bought from an Authorized Historic dealer. Near-Mint Condition. Shows some oxidtion on nickel hardware like most Reissues. Kind of gives it a slightly 'relic look. Barely played and only at home. 100% original. Nice weight and sounds as nice as it looks. Comfortable, beefy neck which gives it great sustain! Plays effortlessly with low action. No fret-wear,Beautifully grained Rosewood neck too. I haven't played it much at all. Comes with it’s original Custom Shop hard-shell case. Got some bad GAS for a new toy. $3,300 shipped. I know it's a lot, but they don't come much prettier than this dirty girl! SOLD!

I recently played a really great '58 Plaintop and a '54 VOS, both lightweight and nice all-around players.I think the RIs are the way to go w/a LP...the prices aren't that much different than the regular production stuff that seems to be mostly crap/GC fodder. The R9s are outta my comfort zone, but there are some decent deals out there.
