silentman Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Anyone got one? Mesa 20:20? something else?
tafkathundernotes Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 That's asking alot - about the only thing you'll find in a single space is something with EL84's in it. Tell me more about this idea. Maybe I can find something......
Scooter Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 I use an ADA Microtube 200 with really good results. The tubes just warm the tone, it's NOT a tube amp. Got it for around $200 used iirc. I LOVE it!
silentman Posted January 16, 2007 Author Posted January 16, 2007 Got a friend looking to get rid of a 2 space older ADA power amp. He's blaming the power amp for the 'crappy' sound (He's running a Marshall JMP1 preamp. He wants tube. Marshall used to make the 20/20 single space too. I suggested the ADA Microtube. I have an ADA 100w microfet that sounds good to me. What else are you thinking about, Brian?
tafkathundernotes Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 What else are you thinking about, Brian? Just pondering how hard it would be to build something similar to the 20/20. There's not much to them. I know a 2-space unit would be easier to find the necessary parts to build one. I also stumble across similar items occasionally at some of the stores I do work for. I think I know where there's a used 20/20 so I'll check on that.
anotherfreak2 Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 I have a Peavey Classic 60/60, it's bigger than a single space, but if nuthin else pops up for you, let me know if this might do the trick.
tafkathundernotes Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 Carvin if you can deal with a 2-space:LINKY HERE
ZR Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 The PV classic series (with a million tubes in it) is a great 2 spacer. The single space Tube Works could be a good bet as well. I had the 2 space version and it was very close to tube w/o any.
