Craig S Posted February 12, 2007 Author Posted February 12, 2007 Electric, he want's to be a rock star
hamerjunkie Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 not my auction, but..............http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...p;rd=1&rd=1
DavidE Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 When my son was 5, I bought a little Erlewine Chaquita guitar (not the cheap copy) as it was about his size. The problem was, the dang thing would not stay in tune. Many of those mini guitars just aren't worth putting in his hands due to tuning issues. There are new squiers for $99 that might be big for him. I actually played my mini strat for a tune at a gig and it stayed in tune just fine. Not sure if there are better choices, but I wouldn't be surprised. ;-)
frankthomson Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 yea, what DavidE said....^^^ i have a mini squire strat and it plays remarkable well. actually intonates to 90%ish...and sounds like a squire...lol...but hey, i paid $69 shipped w/ free g-bag from MF i play it sometimes b/c it a prefect size for a travel guitar. i think even a hello kitty comes in mini size [but it dont have the cool graphic like mine...but.........] ...also, EPI makes a 3/4 size LP (the yellow one)...i just reshaped the headstock and shot it yellow. AND YEA I'M A FAG B/C I HAVE A HELLO KITTY STRAT! fwiw, the mini epi *V*'s are more toys than anything else...they almost do not intonate at all...!!!..not even close...well at least i couldn't get mine to!
DavidE Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Craig: I have no interest in selling, but if you want to borrow my mini fender strat for a couple of weeks to see if it's something you want to buy, you're more than welcome. If I could figure out where my son's Kramer strat went, I'd sell it to you for fitty bucks, but we have no idea where it is.
DavidE Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Craig: check your email about some good deals on new axes.I also have a pay it forward to your son for his first amp.
Craig S Posted February 12, 2007 Author Posted February 12, 2007 David E: Wow thanks..... I appreciate it
serial Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 This is probably not right for an 8 year old, but for anyone out there with smaller fry, while it isn't a guitar, I got my son an Epi Mandobird because the MiniStrat was too large for him at the time. The mando neck is skinny enough for a three/four year old to make notes on and it only has four strings, which was a bonus because it got him accustomed to some chording (two note stuff, but still there). It can be tuned reasonably well and will hold the tuning for him, unlike a lot of the kids guitars. I also know that I can sell it for what I paid for it or more on Fleabay. He loves it. Even with his clothes on.
SouthernShred Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 washburn makes a mini called an X5 that's pretty nice, two humbuckers...
