halide Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 SOLD, thanks.... avatar 2x12 black tolex, wheat grill speaker cabinet unloaded. metal side handles, metal jack plate on back, excellent condition, easily 9 out of 10. $200 shipped anywhere in the lower 48 by 2 day fedex air. money order preferred but paypal accepted if you pick up the 4% fee.
DavidE Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Someone would need to paypal exactly $206.28 for you to end up with $200.See www.ppcalc.com.
halide Posted March 6, 2007 Author Posted March 6, 2007 thanks david. that seems a little low though. the last paypal transaction i had (2 weeks ago) showed a 3.9% charge. maybe $207.80? :-)
DavidE Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Go to ppcalc.com and check it out. It's worked perfectly for me every time. Unless you have some weird type of account that would take a higher than normal fee.
MCChris Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Actually, the thing to do is factor your fees into the price. In this case, you might say "$210 shipped, PayPal OK". Much more customer friendly, you don't alienate potential buyers who don't think the burden should be on them to pay the fees, plus you pocket a couple extra bucks.Marketing 101.
kizanski Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 thanks david. that seems a little low though. the last paypal transaction i had (2 weeks ago) showed a 3.9% charge. maybe $207.80? :-)Here's a link to PayPal's fee breakdown.Your index finger and a calculator should be all you need.
serial Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Cool looking cabinet, but it needs checkers on the outside and girlie pix on the inside!
halide Posted March 6, 2007 Author Posted March 6, 2007 hmm, i guess they need to update their fee page. i was charged 3.9% for a transaction of $1190. i was figuring my price based on the fact that avatar sells the loaded (lowest end speakers) version for $288+$34 shipping and doesn't offer an unloaded version. i'll entertain reasonable (david) offers for this unloaded one. thanks, craig
MCChris Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Closed- or open-back? No coffee yet this morning Admiral? LOL
ZR Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 I always just have the one price - paypal ok (actually prefered by me). I think the 3-4 % is worth making the deal happen easily. For me, having the money right away speeds things along rather than waiting for a check in the mail.
halide Posted March 7, 2007 Author Posted March 7, 2007 i'll also entertain offers for the cab and (1) texas heat (8 ohm) as shown in the photo. speaker is low hours, maybe 2 gigs and some rehearsal, borken in but not very light use.
AdmiralB Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 No coffee yet this morning Admiral? LOLNo, I don't drink coffee. And my employer blocks imageshack-type sites, so I can't see the pictures. So, is it open or closed, for us Ray Charles types?
