hamerboy_ Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 'Twas a great day many years ago for hamerboy_. Since it's been Californian Appreciation month, I thought I'd snap some pics of mine to share with the gang. I think I just heard a "THUD" all the way from the west-coast. Somebody check on kurtsstuff! -Bobby
stonge Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 looks like one of the limited-run Californians - is there a secondary serial number stamped under the regular serial number? I used to own one of those, but it currently lives with a friend up nawth in the homeland. Great guitar, and a great score! Now I'm wondering if there were any green sparkle Calis. That would be cool.
holLoWskull Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 Damn you Bobby, you're such a tease! ....you know I love that guitar. Oh well, at least I can remember drooling over it back at the 04' Open House too. Just remember, I called dibs on it a while back if you ever have an insane moment of weakness and decide to sell that one It would be in great company with my other purple Hamers too. I still kick myself in the ass for selling the 94' Cali Elite I had in the same color
hamerboy_ Posted March 25, 2007 Author Posted March 25, 2007 Yeah Stonge. This one is #014. I have both Guitar World and Guitar FTPM mags with the new gear spotlights on it. The articles said is was to be a limited run of 150. I think someone here said there may have been only 40 or so made. I believe our friend from the other side of the pond, Jem, has one.BTW, I forgot to get back to you on the Chap. Look for a p.m. from me later.Hey Matt. You sold that purple Elite? The one I had, sent back, and you found at a guitar show? Why'd you do that? -Bobby
holLoWskull Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 Hey Matt. You sold that purple Elite? The one I had, sent back, and you found at a guitar show? Why'd you do that? -Bobby Yep...that's the very same one. The reason I did it....I really don't know other that I'm an idiot when I look back in hindsight I guess I was between bands with no prospects at the time, so I imposed a silly self-induced goal to reduce my number of guitars I owned. Now that I'm gigging again I really wish I had that guitar again. Oh well, that was my "the one" that so many of us talk about selling and regretting almost immediately afterwards. That's why I'll wait until you have a moment of insanity and decide to part with your's

As always...If any for sale...ya know where to find me.. ...Nice guitar!!
hamerboy_ Posted March 26, 2007 Author Posted March 26, 2007 'Bout time you chimed in Kurt!Although I fancy myself a Chaparral man, gotta have a little variety. I actually got into Hamer's (especially Califorians) growing up here in Cleveland seeing Neil Zaza just about every weekend. Some will remember his Cali Custom in the KMD ads. Hard to believe he's currently a Cort endorser. -Bobby
Mike_C Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 I think there were 50 made of that one. I had number 44. One of the few true sale regrets I've ever had. Number 44 had it and I let it go.
Jem Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 Yeah Stonge. This one is #014. I have both Guitar World and Guitar FTPM mags with the new gear spotlights on it. Why'd you do that? -Bobby Yo Bobby, Yeah i've got one but mine's a triffle weird. The limited run was done in '89 but mine's a '90 with no secondary number. After some digging Serial and i decided that it was a special order after the initial run had been done - nothing like Hamer for throwing a 'limited edition' curveball Jem.
