LMAO!!!!!!!! :):):D:D $53,900.00 Then he wants $45.00 for shipping and $95 for insurance.....

What a cheap screw!

I would expect it to have its own seat on an airplane and delivered by DHL with roses and champagne (at least a case).

The guy also has a 72 Strat for $15,900 - No Way.

That price comes to $61,000 Cdn. These things always reminds of the '56 GT I had for two weeks about 40 years ago, but had to give back because I couldn't come up with the $110 Cdn. to buy it. :)

Regardless of the price, I do not trust music stores that do not advertise, up front, what the weight of a guitar is, especially Les Pauls.

They know it is relevant, and not mentioning tells me they would rather disclose as little as possible. Bad.

Same thing for frets condition. Selling a piece like this, and not having at least one picture showing clearly the condition of the first few frets does not speak well of the seller.

Sure, you could ask, but you should not have to.

Did Gibson make speed knobs in the 50's? IIRC that guitar should have bell knobs, so it's not "all original". That might be nit-picking, but all-orignal should mean ALL-original when you're asking 50K+.

Mike -- they are probably original. In the "Les Paul" book, there are pics of a couple '52's, and a '54 with speed knobs. "American Guitars" also shows a '52 with those knobs. They also show a 1950 ES-300 with speed knobs.

My 1953 Goldtop had speed knobs - they were 100% original.
