BadJaxx Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 anybody else watch it?i've seen it before...still cool though...just wish they would edit out Yoko...
Rockola Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 The Who KILLS on that! That's probably the reason it wasn't released.
Rockola Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 Great to see the full version of A quick one but I really enjoyed Taj Mahal. Did you notice a very young Simon Kirke on drums?
BadJaxx Posted June 3, 2007 Author Posted June 3, 2007 yeah, apparently, camera and other equipment problems delayed things enuff that the Stones didn't start playing until 2am...as a result they were a little flat and felt outdone by The Who, so it was never released....sat unfound in a vault for decades...i think there is some classic music and footage there...making it well worthwhile...Jethro Tull's contribution was pretty damn good too...and just seeing Keef on bass with Clapton and Lennon on guitar is way cool.....a rare relaxed smile from Clapton during that time...playing his 335...with the Stones, Keef is playing a 3 pup LP Custom....Brian Jones playing slide on a Firebird...Townsend said he loved it...specially whilst sitting next to Marianne Faithful...
Brooks Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 the who owned that gig.cool to see iommi lip synch w/ tull.
belgian Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 The Who KILLS on that! That's probably the reason it wasn't released. It was released on DVD a couple of years ago (in Europe).
hamerican gigolo Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 Great to see the full version of A quick one but I really enjoyed Taj Mahal. Did you notice a very young Simon Kirke on drums? I also enjoyed Taj Mahal with the late, great Jesse Ed Davis. Awesome vocal performance.
Mike_C Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 The Who KILLS on that! That's probably the reason it wasn't released. It was released on DVD a couple of years ago (in Europe). It was released a couple of years ago here too. I have it and the Extras are almost as fun as the whole show.
alantigold Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Great to see the full version of A quick one but I really enjoyed Taj Mahal. Did you notice a very young Simon Kirke on drums? The DVD version of "The Kids Are Alright" has the full "Quick One". Matter of fact, they did a lot of work on it and fixed a lot of the speed and compression problems that were there from previous releases. They redid a lot of the video, too - very nicely done. There's a whole bit on the extras about the fixes, and they have an Ox camera!Alan
