JohnnyThunders Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 ************reduced price then off to fleabay*************************** This is rare Gibson Luna Explorer built in 1988 I checked after I posted, Duh! They only made them for two years. Excellent condition one little dent on the neck one little dent on the top otherwise looks new. $799 shipped CONUS. Case is in good shape also.
BTMN Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 I always thought those were called E90s and Matthis Jabs of The Scorpions had a hand in helping design them. There was a V90 like this too. I have an E90/Luna that has had a couple things changed such as mine was Kahlered at one time perhaps originally, and reblocked it looks like. It has a wraparound Leo Quan style bridge now. I have seen those with a single coil neck pick original issue also. Cant find much info on this model on the 'net but I have tried. Gibber was NO help. Edited cause: DOH!!!!
JohnnyThunders Posted July 16, 2007 Author Posted July 16, 2007 I couldn't find much either but the guy I got it from says it was a Luna? Nice guitar but I'm clearing everthing out excpet my 2 specials, 4 digit, Huber, 59 LP Junior and my Extreme Custom Design only one other than Sean Martin Hatebreed Low C Metal monster guitar. Scooter Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Cool! How does that thing balance on a strap? Neck heavy? It's regular Gibson scale, right? Is the neck thin or chunky?
JohnnyThunders Posted July 16, 2007 Author Posted July 16, 2007 Not neck Heavy on a wide leather strap if I remember right, I'll double check tonight. Regular Gibson scale I would guess sounds like it I can measure also. The neck is not chunky, might be Gibson slim taper but I'not familar enough with Gibson neck profiles. It is very similar to my 93 Studio Custom which is wide thin-medium but not super thin like an 81 Special. I can measure also tonight. Cool! How does that thing balance on a strap? Neck heavy? BTMN Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 The one I have is lightwieght about 7 lbs., 24 fret necks on them. I've never played Johnny Thunders but mine has a nice C shaped thinner shredder style neck.
