guymandude Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Alright I didn't think I would ever do this. I need some money so I am selling off my prized possession. I will put this up on Ebay this week but I figured I would give everybody here a chance first. I’m asking $2k plus shipping and I’m not looking to trade. I'm sorry no international shipping this thing is going to be a pain to ship The guitar is in alot better shape than the pics but I wanted to make sure there were no surprises. Here is a description Hamer Scepter USA guitar. Serial # 514293. Has a mahogany body, maple neck, and boomerang inlays on an ebony fretboard. Also has Original Floyd Rose with bar and EMG 58's in the bridge and neck. Has truss rod cover and Schaller strap locks in black. I don’t have the tremolo cover. There are some finish cracks near the headstock. But they are only finish cracks THE HEADSTOCK HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. I have taken it to 2 different luthiers and they both told me the same thing, that it is just the finish cracking. These guitars are very hard to find, let alone without the headstock having been repaired. Guitar was used and has dings in the body especially the horns (like most pointy guitars). I have many pics showing the dings. Guitar has been refretted and the frets are mint (no dings). I also had a professional luthier move the Floyd over a little because when you got to the top of the fretboard and did pull off’s, the high E string would fall off the fretboard. Set up (10-52) tuned down a ½ step and strobe intonated. Stays in tune real well - killer guitar! The case is original as well. There are some tears in the covering and there are pics to show that. All the latches, and handle, work. I need the money for some new equipment and this has been under my bed for 3 years getting no use. You can email me at [email protected] if you have any questions. Thanks guys and gals!! http://s148.photobucket.com/albums/s28/theonlyguitarteacher/
Hamers rock Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 O.K. off to the Ebay on Sunday. I like mine! How much were you asking?
Luke Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 O.K. off to the Ebay on Sunday. Funny how seller's view such a statement as a quasi-threat and buyers view it as a last ditch, desperate attempt at attention. What's the buyer's downside to you paying to list it on ebay and then paying the final value fees? Please don't say that you will gross over $2200 there so you will be ahead because that is not realistic IMO.
Lockbody Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Why piss on his FS thread?Answer that one.Start another thread next time.

He told you, Luke! That's actually a very good suggestion and somewhat of a standing order around here. If you feel the urge to post a comment that is going to somehow make it more difficult for someone to sell his gear, keep it to yourself or start your own thread. It is there that we can all scrutinize, mock, and dissect you without the seller feeling like his thread has been stomped on (which I hope he does not feel I am doing now). And while I am on the subject, if "joeschmo" is selling his _____ model guitar, let's keep the postings of pictures of other examples of the same guitar to a minimum, unless it is to make a point of contrast that the one the seller is displaying is actually better or cheaper than "this one." I think most of you have noticed that over the years, the same guitars get passed around our group, and in the case where the guitar does leave the group, the money received is often spent on another guitar that an HFCer is selling, so let's think before we post "Is this going to help joeschmo sell this or am I just trying to call attention to myself?" "I like mine" is a fine way of participating in the forum, but there are enough pr0n threads where you can show off your wood, and if not you are certainly welcome, in fact encouraged to start your own. Sorry to go off on a rant in your FS thread, guymandude, but this needed to be said, and I think it needed to be said right here. Now, back to guymandude's Scepter For Sale thread....
Disturber Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 I'd love me one of those Scepters. If I'd had the cash right now...... They are THE ultimate 80's guitar design.

My "O.K it's off to Ebay" means..................................It's going off to Ebay. Not sure how much it will go for on Ebay but nobody in the HFC made me any offers and it's cool. Thanks everybody for looking.
Steve Haynie Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 For what it is worth, I have a Scepter and it is fun to play. It feels right for metal!
scepter-V-lemmy Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 The V version is fun, too. Makes you look like this after playing Judas Priest songs on it:
