Just knew about the Gibson M-III's existence.

Just discovered that these Gibson M-III guitars ever existed. They look quite cool, and for some reason I don't hate the reverse headstock in them. Has anyone around played one? Some pictures:

They may be good utility (shredder) guitars but I bet most folks consider them to have been the first major stumble by Gibson's then-new owners. Moreover, I recall the basses being horribly neck-heavy.

I played one at a jam about twelve years ago, I do recall not caring for the way it settled on me when I was playing it standing up. Other than that, I didn't find it very remarkable at all.

Played a red one back in the 90s... there are even a few made in UAS examples that are labeled Epiphone too. I've seen them with Schaller Floyds and with Steinberger Trems.. thought they were cool.
