zorrow Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Just discovered that these Gibson M-III guitars ever existed. They look quite cool, and for some reason I don't hate the reverse headstock in them. Has anyone around played one? Some pictures: ...and one link having even more pictures: http://www.guitarshop.net/gibsonm3pics.htm
Willie G. Moseley Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 They may be good utility (shredder) guitars but I bet most folks consider them to have been the first major stumble by Gibson's then-new owners. Moreover, I recall the basses being horribly neck-heavy.
Hackubus Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 I played one at a jam about twelve years ago, I do recall not caring for the way it settled on me when I was playing it standing up. Other than that, I didn't find it very remarkable at all.
Steve Haynie Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 That guitar looks cool or fugly. I am leaning toward cool.
Guest JackButler Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Played a red one back in the 90s... there are even a few made in UAS examples that are labeled Epiphone too. I've seen them with Schaller Floyds and with Steinberger Trems.. thought they were cool.
silentman Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Haven't run across one of these in years. I'd like to have one.
