elduave Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Ovation is doing some major re-alignment of their production. Long story short, MANY (as in 75% by my guess) USA Ovation models are going to be made in Korea from now on. This means that prices are being lowered considerably for all these models. Here's where you make out. All the existing USA models are being price adjusted to the Korea prices. So, for example, the old "street" on a 1771LX was $1149, but now it's $699. There are 20 USA made 1771LX's in the warehouse. You get the US model at Korea "street". The 21st guy to order a 1771LX gets the Korean made model. I have 3 pages of these deals and a 4th page of FRG deals that are even better they used to be. SO, if you're after something Ovation, holler for stats. Looks like New Hartford will be housing more lines of acoustic guitar production than initially thought, hence the shake up.
Steve Haynie Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Rotten timing! I have tax deposits to make! For anyone who has not tried an Ovation in a long time, the LX series guitars sound better than ever. It was an incredible jump in liveliness when they introduced that line.
Jorge Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Dave, I'll buy a USA 1771LX, in natural, email sent. Please pick me a good one...
silentman Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 If there are any 1778T's on the list for discounting I suggest those for anyone thinking about one.
currypowder Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Dave,I sent you an e-mail, let me know if you don't get it.
currypowder Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 If there are any 1778T's on the list for discounting I suggest those for anyone thinking about one.I took the opportunity to pick up a 1778T. I have no acoustics, and this is one I've thought about getting. Dave was great to work with. It arrived today and so far so good. I like the way it sounds and plays to my electric only fingers. Thanks again for the heads up, Dave!
