bizzwriter Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Okay. My new Les Paul arrived today. Gold top. With an old PAF and an almost-as-old patent # pickup. ROCKS. Unfortunately, this means that I need to let go of my OTHER Les Paul-ish guitar -- my bitchin' '82 Sunburst. I picked this up from Kizanski via fleabay almost a year ago. It's got a super-nice flame maple top and it plays like butter. Natural ultra-relic finish -- earned from MANY years of bar wars and battles of the bands. Plenty of bumps, gouges, scrapes, crazing, and bruises, but nothing structural and nothing that will get in the way of your playing. No hameritis! I believe everything is stock except the pickups -- as I recall from Kiz's ebay ad, the neck pickup is a Seymour Duncan JB, and the bridge pickup is a Gibson Dirty Fingers. Includes original well-worn five-latch case. I LOVE the way this guitar plays and sounds, but it's gotta go. You know the story. My Les Paul is already getting jealous. Paid $804.89 last September, including shipping. I'm giving my HFC bros first shot at this before I take it back to fleabay and the Gear Page. HFC price is $799 shipped and paypaled anywhere in the Continental U.S. I'll post more details, photos, and maybe a sound clip on Thursday. Questions? EDIT: It's an '82!
neastguy Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 off topic but what cab are you using with that tiny terror?
bizzwriter Posted July 17, 2008 Author Posted July 17, 2008 off topic but what cab are you using with that tiny terror? It's a 1-12" cab, built by the guy in Northern California who builds Tone Tubby cabs. (http://www.kenscabs.com I believe) Puts out plenty of sound...

bizzwriter Posted July 17, 2008 Author Posted July 17, 2008 Hey, Kiz -- thanks for all the photos! Guess I won't bother with new ones. If anyone wants a particular shot, lemme know and I'll get it done.I just uploaded an mp3 soundclip of one of our band jams -- the Burst is all over it. I was playing through my Orange Tiny Terror with a 1-12" cab. Warning: if you decide to download it, it's 96.5 MB! Make a cup of coffee or step out for a smoke while it's downloading. Here's the link to yousendit.comHere are some spots where the Burst is really doing its thing (Caution: jam band ahead):-- 00:07-00:30 (although it got buried in the mix)-- 02:30-03:50-- 04:53-05:26-- 08:33-10:13 (switched between neck and bridge pickup a couple of times)-- 38:15-42:30 (NOT the guitar with wah -- I started getting crazy around 39:57)-- 1:01:20-1:02:20 (finally figured out what song we were playing -- duh)-- Etc., etc.
bizzwriter Posted July 17, 2008 Author Posted July 17, 2008 Cool strat bass and key-tar in the full band shot! Thanks! Our band has three core guys, and a group of about 10 other people (including two different chick vocalists) who come and go. Always makes for interesting gigs/jam sessions...
bubs_42 Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 I'll tell you guy's that you can buy it for $800. or you can wait for Fender to release it as Relic and pay $5000.00 for it.
bizzwriter Posted July 19, 2008 Author Posted July 19, 2008 Getting some strong bites, but no one's taken the bait and run with it yet. Looks like I'm off to fleabay if no HFC takers by Saturday evening...
bizzwriter Posted July 19, 2008 Author Posted July 19, 2008 SOLD -- looks like she's staying west of the Mississippi!
