tgoss Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 Has anyone else tried the Strobostomp or any of the other models? If you think your Hamer sounds good now, wait till you tune it up with one of these!
martin-uk Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 Peterson tuner's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!My god,i'm famous.Well sorry but it is my last name.lol.martin.
Armitage Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 I've got a Peterson VS-II Virtual Strobe Tuner, and I think it's great. You get what you pay for.
Guest teefus2 Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 i had a vsII for a year or so and picked up the strobostomp in dec '04. they are both fantastic and the s-stomp goes everywhere with me.
shankyboy Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 I have been thinking about purchasing one of those. So tell me, does it make that much difference?
Steve Haynie Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 I have a Peterson 490. That thing will catch a quarter turn on a bridge saddle screw on your high E string.
tgoss Posted July 11, 2005 Author Posted July 11, 2005 It will absolutely make a difference ShankyBoy.You've got 100 cents between 2 notes. It'll detect 1/10 of 1 cent.If you tune your guitar on a bench and then pick it up to play, you'll be out of tune and the Petersen will register that.Check one out, you won't be dissappointed.
Guest teefus2 Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 i used to use a sabine and once i a/b'd it to see if there was a tone difference. i was quite surprised at how much it changed my guitar sound. then i got a boss which worked fine but seemed to jump around quite a bit. seemed to be a little tone loss but not as much as the sabine. i can't tell the difference between the peterson s-stomp and straight signal (when it is in tru bypass mode). it makes a difference especially when playing with other guitar players. at the open stage ther eis a guy that uses a boss tu2 and the other guy uses his line 6 floorboard. both guitars sound a little out of tune depending on how dilligent they are. i can notice a difference. the s-stomp has a di out (which may or may not be useful depending on your situation) too. it's real easy on 9 volts too.
cswilder Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Totally worth it. Intonating and tuning with the Peterson is the single greatest tonal improvement I've ever gotten out of a gear purchase.
Monacosis Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Love the Strobostomp. I am finally able to intonate my guitars (accurately) without paying a tech. The "sweetened" tunings are esp. nice.BUY ONE NOW!mike
