I hope to check this one out next week. Nice heritage, although a little expensive. Rick Neilsen and Rick Brewster from The Angels are the main reasons why I became interested in Hamers.

Dude... The Angels (aka Angel City in the USA) are one of my favorite bands!

I only got to see them once. The played a club in Houston (Cardi's) on their "Night Attack" tour.

I remember reading an article in Trouser Press magazine about how all of their instruments were stolen during a USA tour. They called Rick Nielsen and he loaded up his car with Hamers and drove to Detroit to deliver them in time for Angel City's next show. They ended up keeping a few of those guitars I think.

I heard they were going to play some reunion shows with Doc Neeson?

Yeah they got back together with Doc late last year (after a messy split), and already have done a couple of tours. They'll be doing another tour in a few months, they're letting the fans choose the setlist by voting on their website.

Rick and John Brewster have toured over the years in a duo/trio format. They played my local club late last year. I asked Rick about his Hamers, turns out he doesn't have them anymore, but he said "I wish I did".

Hey Wilson, if you get a chance (and you feel inclined) could you check this one out and report back?

I had a look at this one today, the serial number is actually 0 2105. It's in very good condition considering it's been through two touring artists, and whoever else. Medium weight, medium neck. Pickups have been changed, I was told they are Dimarzios, but they're not particularly high output. Knobs have been changed to black tele-type knobs. Tone pot sounds like it's a replacement, it doesn't get the nice middly quality at 0 like the original ones. Probably had a refret, a very good one. Overall a very nice guitar.

There's a couple of other old Sunbursts there also, but there not listed for sale on the website, and they weren't price tagged.

Hey I checked on that one awhile back. With the exchange rate and shipped to the US it was only like $2,100 US Dollars. Thats a great price.

It was damn good too, I tell ya. I haven't played many new Hamers, but if I was in the market, I'd be on this one. Loved the colour of the top, very classy, and it played very easily.
