Any T-51's coming on the market?

I'm considering another Hamer purchase and was wondering if anyone is getting ready to list a T-51 for sale before I pull the trigger on something else.

Looks very nice. Seller says it's 7.4 pounds. Seems good, from doing a couple of searches about T-51s, it's seems that was a common complaint, many of them are too heavy.

I'm interested in T-51s as well, you know, kind of stay in the Hamer family. But after seeing some mixed reviews, I'm wondering if I'd be better of with a G&L or a Fender.

What are the opinions out there?

That is the one I have my eye on. Just wanted to take any other possible one's into consideration. That one on ebay is beautiful.

Loved my '96 T-51. Very comfortable, sounded great. But I was getting back into humbuckers and double-cuts at the time. Sorry I ever sold it....

Specialk, I missed that one and regretted not having the chance to bid, it was a beautiful T-51. I love that finish color and matching head stock. I'm sure the buyer is loving that one.

The T-51 on eBay belongs to a good friend of mine. I have borrowed it for a night, and I have to say that thing is really really really nice.

Honestly, I'm surprised he's selling it, but I believe I heard something about a new boat, so that's my guess as to the motive. I see he has a few other things for sale too.

The pictures don't do that thing justice (well they are nice photos, but still). It's a gorgeous trans-white and rosewood, nice weight and balance, and pretty much in new condition.

Even if I wasn't a sucker for trans-white and rosewood, which I am, that would still be an excellent choice.

There's my $0.02 shill for you.

With T-51s and Daytonas, I think a key question is whether or not you like the wide flat fretboards. I love them, but I understand they are not for everyone.

I've had experience with three. The orange one I had first had a bit of a bright tone to it that made me consider a pickup swap, but the next two sounded just like (excellent) Teles to me.

I'm sure he is, too,

I emailed him once asking if he'd want to sell it back to me. He never answered.....

I just bought one like this from a guy in WA except it has a maple board- it's an incredible instrument. I've long preferred P-90's/Mahogany Specials but the sound of the T-51 has really grown on me.

I've found that Hamers can be bought sight unseen; +1 on action/playability. Every single USA made that I've played has been great.

Regarding the flat radius of T-51 and Daytona fretboards, I agree that they can take a little getting used to- especially the edges. My T-51 board is a little more rounded and the neck a bit more generous/comfortable than the Daytona.

I sold my PRS Satin Singlecut to Jim and can vouch that he was a pleasure to do business with.

Nice to see you, Jim.

Hey Nick, thanks for the props :D

Your Super Sport gone yet? Still think about it occasionally because I really wouldn't mind another humbucker strat style guit with a standard trem. Then again, I am the waffler and don't know what the heck I want :D:lol:
