bubs_42 Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Now this is a great idea, IMHO. http://cgi.ebay.com/Gibson-Custom-Shop-Les...=item3a53f2b8d7
murkat Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 actually it is derived from the Neal Schon LP which is / was made many moons ago Oh, and it pissed Neal off bigtime.
Always Broke Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 actually it is derived from the Neal Schon LP which is / was made many moons ago Oh, and it pissed Neal off bigtime. I knew I remembered those specs from somewhere. I daresay that his might've been one of the more unique "signature" Les Pauls. IIRC, he had a hand at almost all the little details on it. If Gibson sold a cheaper guitar based off my ideas (and who could say they've ever been used on an LP before) I think I'd be pissed too
bubs_42 Posted October 23, 2009 Author Posted October 23, 2009 actually it is derived from the Neal Schon LP which is / was made many moons ago Oh, and it pissed Neal off bigtime. I'll bet it did. I remember and article in Guitar World that Neal was supprised that people were willing to pay the price that Gibson tagged his Signature Model at. He later in the article said they were trying to refine it to make it less costly to produce. Well I guess they did. Is it at anything like the old LP Lites? I just played and Old Lp Custom Lite at GC about a month ago and thank God I was broke or I would have bought it. It was thinner and had a tummy cut but no blended heal. It was cool.
