PSA: Budokan model Standard on ebay

I don't know what the value really is, but it seems worth it to me.

I don't know why the seller calls it the Budokan model.

That's what the blog site calls the "Rick Nielsen model.

The only Standards that Rick played at Budokan were #0000 & #0004.

I think that the Matthes Bros. would know better on what it's worth.

Appears to be a Korina USA Rick N. Signature Model as HSB0531 stated. I was interested in why the seller called it the Budokan model as well but lotsa' ideas floating out there and the real story is sometimes the hardest to get to. The last few (believe I saw 3 over the years on eBay) have sold between 2K & 3K with the exception of 1 in '06 I believe went for $3200.00 and it was spotless. One never knows when another might pop up, these weren't made for the masses unfortunately.

It's not a Standard - just the Korina RN Signature Model from '98. It's the old "Futura" (Pre-Explorer) body style. They didn't do the full 100 of that run, only a few dozen made it out.

As far as the price, that seems high for the current market, but then again, these rarely come up for sale. They were selling for $2,500 or less a few years ago for the most part. That may very well be what it's worth...but only if it sells. My guess is that it'll sell for much less than the $3,500 he's asking.

Rick has personally purchased back a number from the run, and has even traded other guitars/amps with an HFC'er for one or two.

Very cool guitars, and even though I never got used to the body shape, I've never played a bad one.

As far as the "Budokan" reference, he doesn't seem to be calling it a "Budokan" model or anything, just trying to make a connection to Cheap Trick that some people might remember. He DID spell RN's name wrong, but most people do for some reason!

Like Chris said, the model is the Rick Nielsen Signature Limited Edition.

However when Rick announced them at one of the Trickfests, he reference that in conjunction with Hamer, there would be a guitar that would be made to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of Budokan.

The hang tag with Ricks Caricature on the front contains various information including;

"Solid Silver Backplate Features:

- Rick's signature

- Caricature

- Rick's name in Japanese (Commemorating 20th Anniversary of the "Live at Budokan" Recording)"
