Sam Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 It's the one that finally sold at Fat Sound a couple months back. The pic above clearly illustrates why Hamer is reluctant to do black over spruce!
JGale Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I had a black Duotone. Still like the combination though. It's Spruce. It got grain!
atquinn Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I think the sunken finish looks cool, but to build that without an ebony fretboard is a baffling move!-Austin

esquared Posted December 31, 2009 Author Posted December 31, 2009 +1 on the ebonyI don't mind the grain, but a smooth high gloss black always looks really classy.
cmatthes Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Totally agree that they missed the boat by putting a lighter rosewood board on there instead of Ebony. I think I actually PREFER the spruce top lines on that one to a shiny, glossy black top. That one's got a lot of cool things going on.
BadgerDave Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Agree that the grain lines add to the appeal. The board could be easily stained. Unfortunately, the butt-ugly victory inlays are permanent.
