HamerJammer Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 I have a 100% original early 90s emerald green Cali Elite in amazing condition. EMG 81/SA combo with a Schaller floyd. I will take more pics this weekend (it is at my fiance's house -- this is all I have for now). No, I do not want to sell it at this time. I just want to see if I can get any of the guitars below. I am interested in the following: -Flame Cali elite (regardless of originality or condition) -Charvel 750xl amber -Boogie/Prepro Charvel -Rand guitar -Virtuoso (I will throw in extra) -Yamaha Pacifica 1412 I will throw in others as they pop in my head. Thanks for the E-mail about the possible trade, But the Set-necks of the Rands are just to slick. A cool colored or Graphic Steve Stevens might be the only thing Hamer-wise to perk my interest. Thanks again for the offer!!
DarrenD Posted February 17, 2010 Author Posted February 17, 2010 No problem. Let me know if you change your mind! I can also throw in some cash or another guitar.
proxmax Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 i have an original sustainac system from a 89 chap left.it is sustainiac + circuit board.interested?
DarrenD Posted February 21, 2010 Author Posted February 21, 2010 I want a cali sustainiac mainly because the body has the battery route for easier access. Therefore, I would rather have one installed into the body (they aren't the most fun to install either). But thanks for the offer. Shoot me a PM for a price.

Shoot me a PM for a price.FWIW a sustainiac in a 27 fret guitar that has the treble side of the neck pickup slanted towards the bridge is not a recommended setup (see the sustainiac website). Although I've never seen one in person, I have read that Hamer supposedly made a few Californians with sustainiacs installed. I would venture a guess that they only made a few because they realized shortly afterwards that the setup didn't work as well as it did in the 24 fret Chaparrals.
DarrenD Posted February 21, 2010 Author Posted February 21, 2010 You are correct. The slanted pickup made it difficult for the harmonic mode to work effectively. However, non-harmonic mode supposedly works ok. And since I don't use the harmonic modes very often, I would like to give it a try either way. Distance-wise, it is still ok. I haven't seen many out there though. I'm guessing somewhere here as a cali with a sustainiac?
tobereeno Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I have a B12S I've put up for sale. A member here about ten years ago had it custom ordered - a normal B12S, red translucent finish with flame top and back, but with an ebony board. What are B12S selling for these days in the States? Korea still has very high prices for Hamers, I put mine up for sale at $1600. Some nibbles, but mostly, people around here aren't sure how to play one! There are only two Hamer USA 12 string basses in the country, and I imported both.

The B-12A seems to be the one that goes for the highest $$ consistently. The ebony board would be a BIG plus on that one. I'm curious as to the date of yours - back in 1997, I spoke to both Kim Keller and Mark Lamanna about ordering an emerald green B-12s, and was told that they only had two - one in progress and one that was ready to ship. One of the pair had an ebony board and the other had the stock rosewood, but I don't recall which was which. At any rate, it was near the time of the factory move to CT, and things were a little disjointed. I ended up getting a red B-12s on eBay and kept that one around for a few years. I'm wondering if yours could have been that "transitional" one or not.
DarrenD Posted March 6, 2010 Author Posted March 6, 2010 Yeah I'm still not sure. Probably $1450 shipped obo.
