carfish7 Posted May 3, 2010 Author Posted May 3, 2010 Do you want the one outta my Phantom? N/C to you my friend Thanks Unka Greg. Punkavenger, is that the same super flat unit with no "porch" where the lead wires usually take over? They're only like 1/2" thick if I recall correctly. Super cool if it's the same piece Avenging one! Z

Thanks, Punkavenger! 2 things; Does anyone have any of these old Dimarzio's for sale - I could use one. The one I'm talking about has the pole pieces poking out of the backside quite a ways...like 1/2" or so. Also, how did the Area 67 work for you? How ere they in the brightness department compared to other singles you've tried? Thanks!!
Punkavenger Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 I have a Area 61 middle, 67 neck and barbecue bucker bridge in my Phantom, The 67 is not bright at all, but it is in a set neck short scale mahogany guitar ...The combination setting of Area 61 and barbecue is amazing ...

paults Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Those original single coils are loud pickups - they can keep up very easily with the typical 17k+ bridge humbucker in a Phantom or SS1. I have a spare Cream colored one that I got from Unka Greg a long time ago. If anyone needs one in that color, let me know.

I have one in storage but I'm in Portland and my storage is in Santa Barbara. Plus whomever buys my Phantom has first crack at it. I might be going back next month. Someone else is interested in it also, but you still might have a chance. Of course when I had the whole set for sale on the board here no one said a thing ... crickets!

Anyone have one of these in black right now?
