Clickety. It doesn't have surround outputs, but it has a very smooth analog output with very low jitter. Also, it has an RCA SP/DIF output which can carry Dolby Digital and DTS surround datastreams. It also supports 16 to 24 bit depths and a variety of sampling rates, at least under certain conditions.

The other day we bought the ESI JULI@. It's quite versatile and does a great job.

I went through a long search for my media PC that runs into my living room TV/Stereo and ended up replacing my sound card with a video card. My ATI 4770 outputs 7.1 surround via the HDMI as well as replacing the crappy NVIDIA 8500 video card. I manage the audio from my computer through my stereo like my Bluray and TV. ATI has several cards that will do this.

I have a ATI HD 5870 and it's pretty sweet.
