BubbaVO Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 just because it hit the spot during my commute... edited to make clear that I wasn't in immediate danger of kicking off.
LordOfTheThighs Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Quite possibly my fav Zep tune. It really puts me on a natural high when I can crank it. Kinda fun to jam along to, also.
BillW Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Yeah I never get tired of that one ....On that DVD they released a few years back (how the west was conquered or something like that) they play it live (at Knebworth I think) and I was amazed at how little effort Bonham was putting into that one sped up shuffle part ...all in the wrists, I guess ....- Bill
dgstandard Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Has to be in my top ten favourite songs of all time, not that I made a list or anything. Just plain awesome. For the longest time I thought he was singing "oh my teeth ache"

tbabinec Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 Great tune - very alive and spontaneous-sounding. As with many Zep tunes, this one has a history although they make it sound like their very own tune. Writer Chris Welch mentions a tune on Bob Dylan's first album called In My Time of Dyin'. It is said that the lyrics were from a 1927 tune by Blind Willie Johnson called 'Jesus Make Up My Dying Bed.' Page, Plant, and other Brits (Clapton) seem to have this great knowledge of old American roots music.
Rodan Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 The Knebworth DVD is what got me back into this cut, though I've always loved it. Presence is a pretty great Plant record, IMHO. His harp solo on Nobody's Fault But Mine always gives me chills.
MTM105 Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 I have the same Dano. Except it's a light purple import. Same sound. Maple neck. Not sure but his looks rosewood.
