Rocktuna Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 How do I stop my Email address from sending spam, advertising all sorts of unmentionable stuff. My soon to be ex friends are getting annoyed.
morningstar Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 My brother had to kill his Yahoo account due to this nonsense.I had some stuff coming from mine too. I would never have known, but I had another of my own email addresses in my address book, so I got copies. None of my list complained. I emailed my entire list and instructed everyone to not open emails from me which only contain some short statement and a link. It stopped as far as I can tell after a couple weeks. Good luck.morningstar
mathman Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Have someone check the headers to see if it is really coming from you. Someone that has you in their address book may have a virus and their computer is spoofing your address to send the emails.
Dudey058 Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 After the second time it happend, including a woman I was trying to hook up with, I had to delete all of my contact list. Now I just use the search that find an address when I start to type in the address. Also, I changed my password now on a regular basis. Yeah the woman told me that she had to delete my from her contact list since my account was sending her spam. Right! Nice cover story to dump me.
Jem Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 If it's a Hotmail just change the password, seems to have worked for me a few weeks back.
