I'm having a theme airbrushed on a guitar that will include the pickguard/backplate/pickup rings. If it will be a player, is durability a concern if using the standard plastic materials? Would aluminum, wood or something else be a better choice?
I know plastic can be painted but is it the best option, since once it's done, it's done.
