jettster Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 http://users.adelphia.net/~jettster/images...ars/music/4.mp3This is only our second time together.Everything but the lead track was done live, all at the same time. The lead was done after, first take, all improv.Used a Daytona for the rhythm and Cali for the lead.Enjoy
hikarateboy Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Shit it sounds like you guys have it together. I say next time scrape your rhythm take and play the lead live. You guys got it covered. Sounds great! Best of the HFC vol 3 anyone?
jettster Posted September 12, 2005 Author Posted September 12, 2005 Thanks Ted!We will hopefully have something worth submitting for the HFC CD in the next couple of weeks.
MCChris Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 GREAT stuff man. This is my kind of music!
hardheartedbill Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 nice start! crackin drummer, I can't wait to hear you guys explore a little more harmonic content
Caddie Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Very nice !!! Perhaps a bit reminiscent of Steely Dan's Kid Charlemagne, just a weeeee bit more manic. Thanks for the taste.Noonan
savethematches Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Nice! No matter what anyone else says, sweep picking is cool!
jettster Posted September 13, 2005 Author Posted September 13, 2005 Thanks for the kind words. Bill - as far as a more harmonic content goes I'm stretching my limit as it is. lol I'm just an old shredder trying to play a little out of the box. What's that saying....... You can't teach an old shredder new licks?

jettster Posted September 13, 2005 Author Posted September 13, 2005 Its cool Bill, no offense was taken. Playing the Jazz/Fusion type stuff is real new to me and my playing vocabulary is very limited for that style right now. The good side is that it gives me tons of new things to work on rhythmically and melody wise. Thanks for checking it out bro.
FunkyE9th Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 It sounds good. I actually tried playing along with it last night. It was fun.Just curious...How was it recorded? Did you just put a stereo mic in front of the band and dubbed the solo?BTW, for 2 chord vamps, I also like noodling around Dr John's "Right Place Wrong Time".-FunkyE9th

Thank god for those, makes recording drums a breeze and they sound great every time. Right Place Wrong Time is definately a nice tune. I will have to revisit that one.
