Can't you also get them directly through www.kahlerusa.com?

They do seem to be a bunch more expensive direct though. They brought the company back, but really haven't been gaining much headway into getting back into the trem mainstream.

There's a trem mainstream?

Kahlers were $125 to $150 when they first came out. I was playing four to six nights a week, across fourteen states, and two $1100 Jacksons were way out of my budget. (that was a lot of money back then - my brand new GTI payment was only $200 a month)

No whammy on your guitars to play all the current stuff? That's OK - they would just hire someother guy, and you could just go back to wherever you came from...

I bought one for a Les Paul, and another for a Mockingbird, and still have no regrets, The guy who put one on my 4-digit Standard probably had to eat, too.

These things are (albeit beautiful) screwdrivers/paintbrushes. Tools to inspire us to do what we do. One man's horrific kahler mod is no worse to some guitar guys than (shudder) non-original solder joints.

I hope the owner enjoys the crap out of that Kahlered Sunburst. It could just have been much more easily stripped for parts, and the broken body thrown in a dumpster.

The cost of a new Kahler 7300 trem- $169.00

The price to rout a guitar for said Kahler- $150

The ability to piss off opinionated Interwebz guitar snobs- Priceless

;)

Resale value of said guitar after Kahler installation: Tree Fitty (motivated buyer) ;)

The difference between playing guitar and collecting guitars, my friend crunchee. I ain't buyin' 'em just to stare at while they "appreciate".... :)

It USED to be TwoFitty for a clean Hamer, and one with an added Kahler was $200.

The going rate for installation of a Kahler in the '80s was $100. A router from Sears was $30.

That's why there are so many hack jobs - just like all the 60s and 70s strats routed for a humbucker with a hammer and screwdriver.

One of my fave bench reports from the Master... just got done running this little gal thru her paces an hour or so ago.
