elduave Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 What should I try to get out of a Kenwood KR-V9010 receiver?
JohnnyB Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 What should I try to get out of a Kenwood KR-V9010 receiver?Probably about $100 tops. I found a couple of online classifieds, one was asking $100 and the other $95 including the manual. It came out in 1989. You'll get maybe $20-30 if you take it to a pawnshop. IME the out-of-date surround gear doesn't fetch much in pawnshops. It would be more valuable to someone looking to use one as a decent stereo receiver with a fair amount of power.

I have many more questions for you as we've commandeered a few vintage pieces. I'll sell some, maybe put together a vintage system.I had some big honkin' BSR speakers (big ones that have drivers on front and top) that frankly I thought sucked. Took in a pair of Kenwood KL777's that sound much better.
elduave Posted May 4, 2012 Author Posted May 4, 2012 Pioneer turntable through Altec Lansing 714 into Peavey studio monitors=better vinyl tone than I've had in my house for the last two years.
JohnnyB Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 Pioneer turntable through Altec Lansing 714 into Peavey studio monitors=better vinyl tone than I've had in my house for the last two years. My first stereo was an Altec-Lansing. It was the 911A compact, based on the 714 receiver with a Garrard SL95B turntable set into the top. That was a good receiver for the time (1971-2), with an excellent tuner and decent phono section. My sister and bro-in-law bought a Pioneer DD turntable in the mid-'70s. I visited them 3 yrs ago and they still had it. So if you are selling these items in your store or in a retail situation, you could probably tag that Kenwood 9010 rcvr at $125-150 and be willing to accept $100, especially if you clean it up and make sure everything is working OK.
