Great amp!!!!!!! I love some Plexi tone cranked all alone......especially with buckers or a hot single coil.

+1 on the treble booster to send it from sizzling to on fire. You already have the greatest OD and distortion circuit maybe ever made sitting on top of the amp cab......how does it sound dimed? What speakers are you using?

How about something like an old Marshall Blues Breaker pedal, they cost f'all and are pretty civilised to add a bit of extra front end. My mate Paddy uses one on his 72ish AC30 to get some signal push at lower than public health order volume levels.

Works well to be honest, and the set up give a rather tasty bit of drive without huge amounts of colour to the sound.

Maybe about 50 quid to buy probably less, its not a poncey boutique peirce of kit, but then I spose a plexi isn't either, at least not at original conception...

Effective and no frills, that might be just the ticket.

Early 90s Marshall Pedals are great. I use a Marshall Guvnor on my 77 JMP, you can get one usually for under 130.00 on Ebay

Sorry for the Necropost. It sounds like a good Plexi should dimed. For speakers I am using Mojotone Greenback clones. After all of this i ended up really liking a tube screamer after all.

Nothing wrong with "going back to the well", I reckon. TS9s have that nice, tone-y mid bump that is very pleasing to the ear. Enjoy!

If you can afford a plexi, you should be getting the finest overdrive there is...

Strippers and Cocaine.

if you want distortion, try Hookers and Crack.

Are those both true bypass?

I'm certain those are the triple input models...

I'm still in awe of my $15 (used) Digitech Bad Monkey. They really hit a grand slam with this one. Smokes all of my original '80s TS9s due to it's bass control... YMMV...
