unfun75 Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Is $550 a good price for a used F-50 combo in good condition? I believe it includes the cover and foot-switch. Local deal so no shipping involved.
django49 Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 That is one of the Mesa lines that I have not tried. For some reason it never jumped out at me...... It is probably a fairly good price. Almost certainly has as much power as any same person needs. I would look to a couple resources. First, see what is listed, as well as what has sold (and NOT sold) on eBay. Second, look up info on the Mesa company site re the amp to be sure you are familiar with it. Then look a the Mesa "fan" site and you can probably get critical info as to the pros and cons from users. With all that you can make a more informed decision. But as long as it is local, you should be able to try it and see how it meets your needs.
HoboMan Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 That's a pretty good price. I've had a couple in the past. The clean channel is REALLY good, the gain channel is so-so. I replaced the original speaker in my combo with a Celestion CL80 and that made a huge improvement. I also had a head that I played thru a Marshall cab. I only used the clean channel & used a dirt pedal for my distorted toned. Did a lot of gigs with it. VERY reliable. Here's a link to a low quality YouTube video of the Mesa F-50 & a Hamer I used to own.
