What is the Hamer of Motorcycle helmets?

Buddy wants to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway on a pair of 30 year old Honda 125s and sleep intense. My last new helmet was a full face BMW about 20 years ago (figure it's wasted due to age). What is the new?

I bought my HJC IS-17 through them this spring. Great service. Helmet is good value, though more money with premium brands will probably get better quality.

^^^ That's what I got for Christmas...the IS-17! I got it from Motorcyclegear.com for a little less. Can't wait to try the built-in inner sun visor. Seems to work great off the bike. It has one button retraction if you don't need the shades anymore. Nice when you're on a ridge in the sun then quickly go into some heavy tree cover with curves. I got it in silver to match my Ducati Monster. It also has the pinlock system to add the extra insert for total fog free performance. I've tried about every helmet out there but the HJC Large always fits my head the best.

I've had a good run of HJCs. Serious bang for the buck; I've owned their carbon fiber shell, and the latest RPHA-10 that is used in MotoGP (have two of those).

This year though, with my wife and I now doing a lot more touring, we got a pair of Schuberth C3 Pros with the intercom built in. Very quiet, but a lot of that silence is affected by the windscreen - it likes clean air. Built in sunvisors are sweet. Man that was a lotta dough for two helmets. But they're comfortable as hell.

I ended up with an Arai Signet-Q in XL. I apparently have an oval head. FOr the first time in my life a helmet does not hurt! Fucking awesome fit. Still some road and wind noise, nothing ear plugs won't damp out. MAsk Black. Set me back around $650 with a discount 'cuz they didn't have to order it. really happy with it. Thank you all.
