Ting Ho Dung Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 You're crazy -that's all I can say. Is that the one you want to bite like an apple? Beautiful guitar.
srmd22 Posted September 14, 2013 Author Posted September 14, 2013 Well, interesting turn of events. Shortly after receiving the guitar, the buyer emailed me and complained there were "scratches" under the pickups and "oxidation" on the pickup covers. I didn't know what he was talking about, so I asked him to send pics. He sent a couple of not very good ones, and I saw what could be light pick marks below the strings. I told him that is sort of to be expected for a used (even "near mint") guitar, but he didn't like that answer so he initiated a pay pal dispute. They refunded his money, and I got back the guitar.Sure enough, there are some light pick marks under the strings, which I had not really noticed. You can barely make them out in the 2nd image in my 2nd set of images, which is a close up of the area. (I had emailed the buyer these images pre-purchase). To be honest, they are more noticeable in the right light. The "oxidation" on the pickup covers was some grease or dirt, it wiped off easily with a dry lint free cloth.Anyway, now I have the guitar back, which is kind of fun, as I have been playing it and second guessing why I sold it in the first place. I personally can't imagine a guitar in better condition other then being unplayed, and boy it sounds nice. I am probably going to try again, because I have committed funds to another purchase, so if you had pm'd me about this, you may hear from me. [Mod edit - Per forum rules, you must state a selling price] Other then the above mentioned light pick scratches, which are definitely noticeable when you look closely in person (very hard to see in the picture), I don't think there is any other significant dings that I can find, anywhere.I will repost a for sale thread for this one in a few days, but for now, I'll let this serve as notice that the guitar is back on the market.
tomteriffic Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 It's a custom order - quilt, bound F-hole, custom finish...GREAT guitar.Si. One of the ones I really regret not having the scratch for when it Badger sold it.^^^This.
Punkavenger Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Thank God it wasnt damaged in shipping ... ! Purple, even though it might not seem like it, is a great color. I miss my purple FM, thats for sure.
srmd22 Posted September 15, 2013 Author Posted September 15, 2013 Hi, I saw the message from the mod about selling price: I am dropping it to $2100 including shipping, insurance and fees (the shipping and ins through UPS were about $120, mostly for insurance, and PP fee was $65, but as I said, that's all included). Seeing as I have already spent the money, I am hoping to move it pretty fast, before I get addicted to it again and dig myself into a budgeting hole. I got a new amp, a Morgan PR12, and this thing sounds unbelievably sweet through it (but to be honest, all my guitars do, it's a great amp). I put the guitar in the case, and there it will stay, because every time I see it or play it, I just wanna keep it.I haven't reposted, I guess I'll just let this thread serve the function, if that is okay with the mods, since there seems to be a response. I have a couple of pm's with decent offers, so it'll definitely end up with a HFC member, but the asking price is not yet met.Btw, yes, I was also relieved it was unharmed in shipping, but the buyer did a good job of packing it. I will gladly take more pics on request, and try to get some more close ups of the area under the strings, but I don't think I can get a better one then in the above post, which is hi res, no flash, natural light. Please keep the pm's coming, happy to get reasonable offers.
holLoWskull Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Damn I was relieved the first time that guitar sold (preventing a GAS attack), and now you tempt me with it yet again! Thank goodness it's out of my price range or my documented purple Hamer lust might get the better of me. Good luck with the sale, it's a gorgeous guitar.
