JimiH Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 OK since we loosely talk of the Beatles I let you know an interesting Beatles story i heard from my wife's uncle who was playing the clubs with the Beatles in Liverpool before the Beatles got mega famous. they just arrived back from hamburg Germany and George walked into a club in Liverpool with a brand new Gibson 335. The uncle asked him "Wow how much did that cost" George just said "Money". The uncle was not impressed. On a sour note to the story the uncle told me he was a "F'ing C$%T" and was glad when he died. Not all a anecdotes are nice I suppose maybe I should of changed then end of the story Geoff Harrison was 17 when The Beatles started. He very well could have been like a lot of kids in rock bands-- arrogant and rude. As for McCartney's set list, he apparently rotated song lists on a South American tour this year. Very good point. So, JH... How old was the uncle, when he said he was glad GH died? cmatthes Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 That's a long time to carry around that much bitterness!
JimiH Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 That's a long time to carry around that much bitterness!Yeah I found that odd too. He did say Paul was the most friendly of the bunch.

Basically, none of your business. Depends what type of person you are or what mood your in. Myself I would like to think if someone asked me how much my new guitar was I would tell them and give them a go. Got to remember the setting where this took place. The uncles band where on the same bill as the beatles so just of bunch of kids setting up there gear and shooting the breeze. Geoff
Ting Ho Dung Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 I read somewhere a few years back that Kanye regarded Thom Yorke to be an Asshole. I'd like to thank Thom Yorke for that.
humfree Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 "Back To The Egg" and "Wings Over America" are still two of my favorite Wings albums, and I agree that the four McCartney live shows of the last decade that I've seen have been absolutely stellar performances. But I do entirely respect Cary's "opinion". LOL - "Thank you", Chris. I'm sure he does put on a great live show, but just saying... How much of his set list is post-1975? And I never really cared for him on that TV show, "Murder She Wrote"... Thanks for the Craig Ferguson reference.. miss him already.. I'm going to steal your quip though.. next time McCartney's brought up I'll have an Angela Landsbury photo at the ready.. And no one should be upset at the stunning likeness - it's all born of pantomime
HSB0531 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 That's a long time to carry around that much bitterness! And why would anyone say that about George.
