DaveL Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Daddy's is cool... If you see something on their web sitethey will transfer it in to your local store for you to check outone tip though, if you really want it, put a small deposit downon it otherwise, it's fair game. You also have the ability tofully inspect it before you finish the deal so if there's somethingnot right with it (wrong model, unspecified damage etc) they will let you back out. also, the sales guys are HIGHLY commissioned so if youask "can you do any better?" they may have room to work(sometimes depends how long it's been in stock) if you do that, you have to be ready to put a deposit down...
savethematches Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 I used to love getting their catalogs. I've bought a few items from them and found them very helpful. In fact, I once found a potentially valuable amp at a rummage sale, so I called them up and described it. The salesperson was very helpful, told me what the amp was worth, made a recommendation for me to pass on it at the asking price, and seemed to enjoy the call. So, +1 for Daddy's Junky Music--a pretty classy organization, based on my experience. YMMV.
Nuclear Wessel Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 I took a look at the Monaco Elite on their site. In that condition that's a great price as it is. And it looks hot! I just got a bonus that I was gonna spend on some recording gear and responsible stuff. Now you guys got me tempted to blow it on another guitar!
Tone-up Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Hi Guys, I had the guitar brought in to their Orange CT store a few months ago when they wanted $1,699.00 for it. The guitar was exceptionally clean, needed a small setup but otherwise in great condition at that time. I did see that it went to $1,100.00 shortly after I had it brought in. I liked the guitar but am waiting for the right used Monaco Superpro as my next guitar. Too me the Superpro is the best of the Monaco elite and the Artist models. I also liked the sound of the Custom/Custom and Custom better in the Superpro than the Elite. The cool thing about that Elite is the color, transblack, if your into that color. Good luck because it's a steal at that price and you might get them down to $1,000.00. There are a few used USA Hamer's at one of the local GC's that they are asking almost what they would cost new, not sure what they are thinking. Happy Holidays-
Guest djm1 Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 I thank everyone for the interest in the Hamer, but it has been sold.If it becomes available, I will post a heads up on this site.JeffDaddy's Syracuse

Scooter Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Too bad they don't do mail order anymore. I see a couple things in their used inventory that I'd buy today if they would ship.
Jeff R Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 I bought a bunch of stuff from DJM's UGBM via Hirsch Gardner back in the day (the 90s, before I started hanging out with you guys) and it was always a pleasure. I described my first trade done by phone very accurately to him and I got what I considered very nice trade-in value for it and every trade after that. If there was a used piece I was interested in afterwards, he'd get it to where he was, call me back and describe it to me while it was in his hands. And cut deals. Very cool. I was in Boston for a business trip last year and he was working out of that store by the big music school (Berkelee? SP?) on or near Massachusetts Ave. I strongly recommend doing used gear business with him specifically if you are in that locale.
