I thought, 'You have a Sustain Block Cali?!?', then realized it was a different thing.

A real Sustain Block Cali would be an awesome thing.

I thought the same thing, that and "he's modding a Cali to take a sustain block?? COOL!"

While I haven't done it, I've seen enough floyds to know the rout will be a little different. :)

A few considerations:

- You could probably install the sustainblock on a rosewood shim if its footprint is larger than the Floyd. Maybe not the prettiest, but probably reversible.

- They're string through, so the Floyd rout in the back means you might be able to use the back without additional mods

But to do it "right" probably means adding a bunch of wood and re-routing.

Would be cool though. :)

No, it wouldn't. It'd be a crime against all Floydom. Cali's were made to bear Floyds. I'd grudgingly accept a hard tail as a sole alternative to Floyd goodness but only just. Any other trem offering is heresy and should be duly ignored.

Oh, I didn't think he was suggesting a sustainblock trem... I assumed this was a floyd-to-hardtail conversion. :)
