Montelovesco Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Howdy,I remeber a thread about these, and know I stumbled over one of these. Any opinions? Experiences? Thanks for reading.ETA: Found the thread. Question remains: Somebody with some playing experience on this?
Sugartune Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I played a few in the store. They played okay. Couldn't get past the look and/or the price. My conclusion was...Hamer's do it better.
Montelovesco Posted September 4, 2015 Author Posted September 4, 2015 Seller won't like to hear that. :-) My wife instead...
Montelovesco Posted September 4, 2015 Author Posted September 4, 2015 Man, you really know how to talk me out of a deal, do you?
Boomerang~Junkie Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 I own a fairly early one (#207 from 2013) and love it in every regard. As you can tell, they are pretty polarizing guitars due to their appearance - folks either love them or hate them. Go figure - to each his own.Build quality on these is off the charts and on par with Hamer - really. I was pleasantly surprised. They take their QC very seriously and anyone in the build line can send a guitar back for any reason if they think something isn't "right". I was also told, any guitar which can not be made to meet the high build standards is stripped of re-usable/salvageable parts and then walked over to the wood chipper and mulched. I have not confirmed that part yet though.Dudley Gimpel is EBMM's chief engineer and guitar designer and is extremely well respected in the guitar industry and revered in some of those circles. EBMM (he) spent quite a bit of time designing and messing with the Armada to get it exactly where he wanted it for build quality etc.Its not really like you can say its like a Talladega or a Superpro or anything like that you can nail down as a comparison. Its got its own tone and thing going on that is unique to the Armada. That's my .02 cents worth. Good luck.

Boomerang~Junkie Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Michael (or Ting?),Oh yeah - I've been busy changing diapers - thankfully not my own (yet). In all seriousness, appearances aside - EBMM really does make some fine guitars.
The Shark Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 I played two Armadas. They were really well built and played perfectly. But they were both heavy. And I hate heavy.
