Brooks Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 got 2 cd's up for trade (or "pay it fwd" if no trade offers);1) tommy bolin - box set sampler (~5 mediocre vocal tunes, i was disapointed).2) queens of the stone age - lubbaies to paralyze (no cover or case, just the cd, some very good tunes on here).whatchu got?
BCR Greg Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 The Bolin box set is great, but there are some CLUNKERS on there. That 5 song CD doesn't hit the good stuff.

santellavision Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 I've been a huge Bolin fan since the 70's. And even have owned one of his backup guitars. I've since given it back to the estate (His brother Johnnie now has it) I aquired it out here in CO when he lived here. Here's a pic of it for any fans. It was a '72 body with original 50's p/u's. Sanded-neck and lots of playing wear. It was authenticated by his guitar tech who now lives in Evergreen, CO before I sent it back to Johnnie.
Brooks Posted December 27, 2005 Author Posted December 27, 2005 one of you bolin fans should burn me a cd of his best stuff.pretty please.these 2 cd's are still up for grabs.

Jack C Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 jack, got the supershine, thanx. its not bad, better than some kings x cd's i had.Yeah, it's not bad. Nothing special but very listenable.I just don't know about that QOTSA disc. I haven't listened much but my first impression is that it sounds like shit. Very dead sounding - especially the drums. I know they go for sort of a robot-rock type thing, but the production on Songs for the Deaf seems much better. Of course it was free, so I should quit my bitching!
