Early Hamer Vectors

I must say seeing a recent sale for a White 80s Hamer Vector has again got me interested in these guitars I do think they do look great.Honestly my second choice for a Hamer guitar after a Black "Holmes Era" "Sunburst" would have been a early solid color Vector So some questions regarding the model, I was really liking this guitar at one point but as the Black "Sunburst" was always the guitar I was really wanting I passed. I'm sure some will remember this one.http://www.ebay.com/itm/1982-Hamer-Vector-in-Black-w-OHSC-in-Great-Shape-/281059452701?pt=Guitar&hash=item417072e71dhttp://www.ebay.com/itm/1982-Hamer-Vector-in-Black-w-OHSC-in-Great-Shape-/281059452701?pt=Guitar&hash=item417072e71d. So this is a 82...........according to the description its one of the first few Floyd Rose Vectors produced..................its also a "4 Digit"............least that is whats on the headstock................But its a 1982......... so was this a Custom ordered guitar?.Anyone here having any early 80s solid color Vector PICs they want to post please do. :)fjoq6f.jpg

My understanding is that a 4 digit Vector was just a custom order and neck joint is no different from a production vector. I hope I am not misquoting anyone.

That black one was $1,800.00.............the store would not budge on the price as it was not theirs............it was consigned. This is a good price I'd say for this guitar IMHO. "Sustain Block" Vectors are not all that common from what I have seen here on the HFC................now if this were Black it would be perfect! .................least for me. :)http://www.ebay.com/itm/1981-Hamer-Vector-Natural-Mahogany-Dimarzio-Pups-grlc1757-/291628458209?nma=true&si=d1arwWLY7J6lqqujNxC80X51fSg%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557339llww.jpg

I have 2 sustain block vectors. One all hog like above and another . . .

Some NTL magic.013-8.jpg

Cool! I remember that one! :) that PIC was shot at Jay's shop correct?

Yes it was. "NTL magic" was the hint that it was taken at the NTL shop by Mr. Kolanda, aka Murkat. The only person to fix my instruments for over 4 years now (and I am not even local to him).

My 81 Vector with Sustainblock.

Believe that black one has a sustainblock tremolo, but it's a little hard to tell from the pic angle. My 83 Blitz has such a trem.

I think that's an early non-fine tuner Floyd on that black Vector.

When it was for sale it was listed as being one of the first with the OFR w/o the fine tuners, The listing description..............

Details
USED / VINTAGE 1982 HAMER VECTOR FLYING V Vintage guitar with Original Floyd Rose trem- One of the first Vectors to leave the factory with one! If you are looking for a great sounding, vintage Hamer Flying V this one should be considered

This used / vintage electric guitar is in on consignment and it is in nice shape for its age. We are selling it for the original owner. The guitar is in 100% original condition and it is fully functioning. According to the owner, this is the First Floyd Rose loaded Vector to leave the Hamer Factory. While we can't verify that, I have had a couple people from the Hamer Forum look at the guitar and say if not the first, one of the first few. The Floyd is an original version wihtout fine tuners on it and the whammy is installed via 2 washers (check out the pics). The neck is straight, the frets are still crowned and the truss rod is functioning perfectly. The body does show some signs of wear including a couple of small chips out of the V's and the typical finish swirling/aging you'll find on older guitars, especially black ones. Overall the guitar looks very nice for its age. Included with the guitar is the original hardshell case.

Four Digits were not factory guitars. This was an artist guitar and a very early Floyd install.
