Identify That Aroma (A Guitar Polish Question)

I've had a Gibson LP Studio for a couple of years that I bought used, that came with a unique and very pleasant smell, kind of a cross between vanilla and coconut...either one or the other, or both, I can't tell.  I have no idea what brand of polish was used on it before I got it, and I've not encountered the fragrance before, but I think that's where it's from (it's long lasting, too), and I'd love to get it for all of my guitars!  No, I don't think it's from suntan lotion, especially since I don't have any.  B)  It's not from the guitar case either, as the guitar originally came with a gigbag, and the gigbag by itself didn't have that aroma.  I have two other Gibson LP Studios, and neither one have that fragrance, and all of them have the original factory applied glossy nitrocelluose finish, so I don't think that it's because of the guitar finish, brand, or model.  Anybody know of a brand of guitar polish that smells like that?  TIA!  :)

My Quilted Hamer Junior (in my signature image) has always had that scent. It was very strong when the guitar was new 9 years ago, but still smells like it every time I open the case. Your "vanilla/coconut" description is right on. I always assumed it was a polishing compound used at the Hamer factory. Maybe Mike Shishkov knows since he was there during that time?

are you sure it is coming from polish (body, finished areas) than the fretboard?

a carnuba type wax

or

Scotts liquid gold on the fretboard

I'm pretty sure the smell/fragrance/odor/aroma is from polish...the whole guitar has the same scent, front and back of the body as well as the neck.  When I first got this guitar, I polished the frets with a Gorgomyte cloth then treated the fretboard with Gerlitz Guitar Honey, as well as changed the strings and adjusted the neck.  The aroma is the same afterward as it was before, no difference.

New Gibsons imo have a rather strong attractive aroma past several years. I haven't been able to get an answer, but I am guessing it may be the adhesive in the new cases? Possibly your guitar was in one of these cases prior to you getting it. Zymol I have, also has a coconut scent to it.

that is the valspar lacquer Gibson uses. It is very sweet smelling.
