Are Passive Volume Pedals the way to go?

Well i've been assembling the gig board piece by piece and song by song. Only going to use what I need, but I actually play a fair amount of slide, because I can'ish and they like it. I like to keep both hands on the guitar for muting for certain songs and I was thinking on putting a volume pedal on the board for swells and fades. I just want to keep it simple so I was going to use the Dunlop V1 volume pedal or the High Gain because they are cheap used. Anyone have a preference?

Not as cheap or simple, but I like the "Visual Volume"......It does need to be plugged in.....The LEDs give an immediate sign of where your volume rests.

I HAVE gotten fairly good at controlling volume with the guitar knob, but that sometimes has a dampening effect on tone.

I had a Hilton. Performance wise, the Hilton is the Volume pedal to have. But, en result, my volume knob works just as well or better than any volume pedal no matter who made it.

When it comes to gigs, simple is better. make it a rocket ship, not a command center.

Less is More, and More is MORE!

Ok, i'm going to just go without it and see what happens. Its a lot of relastate for 1 or two songs.

Many EQ pedals have a gain feature, and you can tailor the curve to slide.

I really like the Ernie Ball Jr. pedals. A volume pedal is essential when doing MIDI guitar stuff so I get a lot of use out of mine and have not had any problems.

YMMV as there are plenty of people who hate them too.
