Jeff R Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 +1,000 on Ballsy - he hooked me up this week with one I've been hounding him for a coupla years.
Jimbilly Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 Yeah, it's too bad he doesn't post here anymore, it was always informative. I'll bet that one is sweet w/ the Gotoh. The 2teks are good, but not better than other good bridges imo (and I've had a couple).
Jack C Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 I think the Admiral used to have two Gotoh Cruises and sold one to me a couple years ago. If mine was the "bad" one, I can't imagine how good this one must be. I've owned 2-Tek and Gotoh Cruises and much prefer the Gotoh.
atquinn Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 I just bought a Diablo II from him on Monday (I wasn't home to get it today; I'll probably have to wait until they try to deliver it on Saturday) and I believe he's auctioning off a sweet 2-humbucker Centaura right now as well. I hope it's not because of financial necessity.-Austin
AdmiralB Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Thank you all for the kind words. It's not out of financial necessity, it's about cleaning house and getting into a place where I can actually play the guitars I own without tripping over others on the way. I've determined that I really prefer setnecks; I have my Mirages and Eclipses, a really nice (however plain) Studio, and I'm hanging onto an SS2 for Floyd needs.Hence, I have sold or am selling two Centauras, two Diablos, a Californian, and this bass. All are either sold or in a state of first refusal consideration.Regarding my participation here, or lack thereof - I feel that this board, unlike any other in which I've participated, is tied to Hamer as a living entity (however close or distant Kaman wishes to keep the relationship). Right around Christmas, I was this close (holds fingers really close together) to dropping an order on a new guitar - and then circumstance put me in a position where I had to sell some of my high-dollar instruments, quashing that deal. After I recovered I realized that, however excellent Hamer's current work may be, I will simply never be in a position where I feel comfortable spending 'that much' on a guitar, no matter who made it or when.So...I'm not a potential customer. And I really don't have anything else to say about Hamer these days, positive or negative (other than that Kim Keller is a wonderful and generous human being), so there's really no reason for me to be here.I do still glance at the For Sale board periodically, and I see some of you elsewhere on the net (I'm usually at guitardiner.com). As they say, if you want me, y'all know how to find me.Oh - and it's $450, not $495!
MCChris Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Admiral, you always have the best avatars! LOLIf you ever decide to sell one of your blonde Tonemaster 4x12s (assuming you still have any) let me know.
