Brother Noud Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 What was the last Hamer to have these? And how many years ago was it? I think they should re-introduce them. but on what guitar? Boomerangs Edit: sorry, didn't work this time. Well you all remember them anyways.
Luke Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 It was maybe a year ago when someone said Hamer told them they will not make boomerangs any longer. If you are able to provide the boomerangs from a previous Hamer I believe they will still install them onto a custom order for an upcharge. It has to be a decade since boomerangs were regularly seen on new guitars. Someone had a Jeff Watson built with boomerangs.
cmatthes Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Elduave got me this one (I received it in January of last year) after they said that they couldn't do any more (when I was at the factory in October '04, they had located a couple sets of boomer inlays and had them in little baggies next to my neck and another one): I can't remember if this was before or after the exquisite FooderGatorStandard though! I also got the chance to fondle this one for a quick photo shoot before it shipped out of Rocketeria last summer: Here's the near exact Watson I'd order if I never had to worry about paying for my kids' college:

BCR Greg Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Yup.They would never use salvaged parts on a new guitar.
dr.dave Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Bought a Vector Korina 3 weeks ago from El Duave with boomers
holLoWskull Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 I was just at the Ovation Open House this past weekend and during the Hamer part of the tour I asked Frank Rindone if they would still do boomerang inlays on a custom ordered Hamer. He said they still offer them on Standards (as an obvious upcharge/option). So if you custom ordered a new Hamer Standard last Friday at approximately 1:30 P.M. EST, the wind was blowing in the right direction and you could have gotten them if you ponied up the cash BTW, Frank did an awesome job filling in for Jol as the 'tour guide' for the Hamer part of the tour...kudos to all the Hamer crew!
