LucSulla Posted April 8, 2021 Posted April 8, 2021 I'm going to hold on to the Silhouette for now and move an amp on instead.https://reverb.com/item/39874616-evh-wolfgang-special-made-in-japan-2010-black From the Reverb ads that aren't yet posted for the same reason:EVH Wolfgang Special - $SOLD PPal Gift Shipped CONUS For sale is a 2010 MIJ EVH Wolfgang Special. Before getting into the specs, probably the coolest thing about these is that they were made with all USA hardware, unlike later models. Probably the main points of interest on this guitar that changed when they finally moved to Mexico are: Stainless Steel Frets Birdseye Maple Neck USA Wolfgang Pups EVH Floyd Rose (Rather than a FR Special) Frictionless PotsIt's a black guitar, so if you look at it wrong, the finish swirls. It's an 11 year old guitar, so there is a bit of that. There are also some scratches on the back of the guitar. Mild case of buckle rash it seems for the most part. The neck and frets are still great. The only other issue with the guitar isn't really with the guitar per se. The previous owner was a smoker. While the guitar has mostly aired out, the case still smells a bit of smoke. I guess the upside there is that it does come with a proper EVH hardshell case. I'm pretty sure things could be done to freshen it up; I never tried that hard.
LucSulla Posted April 8, 2021 Author Posted April 8, 2021 Forgot to paste the section about swirls and some buckle rash. Description updated.
scottcald Posted April 8, 2021 Posted April 8, 2021 It's funny you mention the smoke. I knew a guy in high school who was obsessed with Eddie. He smoked because Eddie smoked. Every time I see one of these from someone who smoked, I wonder if it's that dude.
Travis Posted April 8, 2021 Posted April 8, 2021 I, too, have thought about those MIJ Wolfgang specials because Dave Friedman talked about preferring the flat top. That looks an awful lot like my old USA Peavey Wolfgang special I had years ago. Black, flat maple top with scraped binding. Sounded awesome and played great. I just wished it had a bigger neck. GLWTS. Someone’s gonna get a killer guitar.
