rugby1970 Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 Does anyone have any experience in retrofitting a USA Hamer with a sustain block bridge? Thanks.

rugby1970 Posted July 28, 2021 Author Posted July 28, 2021 Wilkinson HT100 bridge. I would like to know how much modification (if any) would be required and if it's reversible.
RobB Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 Drilling mounting holes (non-reversible) Assuming the string spacing is not the same as the Wilkie Tele bridge: Doweling, drilling thru-body string holes and installing new ferrules (non-reversible) Don't do it. Get a proper, stainless Fender-type bridge. There are a few that are drop-in replacements for the HT-100.
gorch Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 If it‘s made right, I think the sustain block would be the best bet. No need to reverse it. Sustain blocks rule for sure.
rugby1970 Posted July 28, 2021 Author Posted July 28, 2021 Thanks to everyone for weighing in on this. If major mods are required I won't do it. The guitar in question has sentimental value on this site. Thanks again🧐
