Montelovesco Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 To some it may seem tasteless or even offensive, but I am looking for a way to get a kind of 80ties AOR cheesy lead sound. For example: The solo of „Very first time“ (Robin Beck - not sure if it was Guy Mann-Dude). Thanks…
atomicwash Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 Overdrive, delay, and chorus would get me close enough. I have a friend who overthinks this stuff. He would buy a couple vintage pedals to nail the sound and only play it for one show. Not me, just get it close. FIRST TIME
scottcald Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 I mean the typical setup then would've been Tube screamer or SD-1 then probably a Boss chorus and delay into a Marshall. Unless they used rack gear then it may have been a Yamaha SPX-90 or something like that maybe two, one doing chorus, one doing delay or a multi-effect patch.

Jimbilly Posted March 1, 2022 Posted March 1, 2022 The Gallien Krueger 2000cpl is so very 80s. Those seem to actually have a little bit of value now, - I think I paid around $20 for mine. It's fun to plug in once in a while.
