Sound question

To some it may seem tasteless or even offensive, but I am looking for a way to get a kind of 80ties AOR cheesy lead sound. For example: The solo of „Very first time“ (Robin Beck - not sure if it was Guy Mann-Dude).

Thanks…

Overdrive, delay, and chorus would get me close enough. I have a friend who overthinks this stuff. He would buy a couple vintage pedals to nail the sound and only play it for one show. Not me, just get it close. ;)

I mean the typical setup then would've been Tube screamer or SD-1 then probably a Boss chorus and delay into a Marshall.  Unless they used rack gear then it may have been a Yamaha SPX-90 or something like that maybe two, one doing chorus, one doing delay or a multi-effect patch.

I was using a Digitech GSP-21 circa 1989!

The Gallien Krueger 2000cpl is so very 80s. Those seem to actually have a little bit of value now, - I think I paid around $20 for mine. It's fun to plug in once in a while.
